The Red Wing Senior Center's new location will be 240 Harrison St. All events listed are held at the existing Senior Center, 1407 W. Fourth St., unless otherwise noted. Phone number is 651-267-3599.
Red Wing Senior Center and Pier 55 will be closed Monday Aug. 19 to Friday Aug. 23 for moving. The new location, 240 Harrison St., will open Monday Aug. 26.
Meet Bert Blyleven
There will be two opportunities to meet former Minnesota Twins pitcher Bert Blyleven, including a breakfast at 8 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 14. Cost is $69 for members, $99 nonmembers and includes breakfast, an address from Blyleven and a signed baseball. He will also meet with fans following breakfast at 10:30 a.m. Blyleven will share stories and meet fans. Cost is $11 and must be purchased in advance. All attendees receive an autographed card.
Dance at the Elks Club
All ladies and gentlemen welcome for a dance to the music of the Key Notes from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday Aug. 11 at the Red Wing Elks Club, 306 W. Fourth St. Cost is $7; all ages welcome.
Let's play chess
Come and learn, improve or just play chess with instructor LaVoie House at 1 p.m. Wednesdays. All levels welcome.
Medical bills assistance
Cathy Gould, who has bachelor's degree in health care management, will help people understand their medical bills. Sign up for individualized appointments by calling the center. The service is free.

Support services offered
Several support groups and services are available.
• The Men Only Group will meet 9 a.m. Thursday Aug. 8.
• Stroke support group will meet 3 p.m. Thursday Aug. 8 with facilitator Deb Howard. She is a speech therapist.
• Parkinson's support group will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday Aug. 15.
• Foot care clinic will be available Thursdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m. with a home health nurse. To schedule an appointment, call Red Wing Homecare and Hospice at 651-385-3410. The cost is $34.
Medical equipment available
Gently used medical equipment is available at the Senior Center to use for up to three months during a period of medical convalescence or short-term disability.
Items include wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs, commodes and more. If you need something, visit or call the center. A $20 donation is requested to help with the ongoing program costs.
Jordan Towers are located in the 400 block of West Fifth Street in downtown Red Wing. All events listed are held at Jordan Tower I or II unless otherwise noted.
Join the exercise class
Exercise class takes place at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday in the Sailstad Room. Everyone is encouraged to only do the exercises that they feel comfortable doing.
St. Brigid's at Hi-Park
The Alzheimer's support group will meet 6 p.m. Thursday Aug. 15 in the community room.
