Red Wing Area Seniors briefs

The Red Wing Senior Center is located in the Professional Building and Community Center, 1407 W. Fourth St. All events listed are held at the Senior Center unless otherwise noted. Phone number is 651-267-3599.

Mozart, 'The Magic Flute' and the Freemasons

Learn about Mozart with a re-enactment of his concerts as a child at 10 a.m. Tuesday July 9. The event is presented by Carrie Vecchione and Rolf Erdahl. Cost is $10 for members, $12 for nonmembers.

Dance at the Elks Club

30 p.m. Sunday July 14. Cost is $7. All ages welcome.

Senior volleyball league

Are you interested in playing volleyball? The center is putting together a team in coordination with the Red Wing YMCA to start a league for men and women over the age of 55. In you are interested, call the center.

Seniors Helping Seniors

Seniors Helping Seniors peer support volunteers are skilled and committed to helping other seniors who are experiencing distress in their lives. If you need someone to talk to or you know someone who does, contact Robin Wipperling at 651-385-3456.

Support services offered

Several support groups and services are available.

• Hearing screenings will be given from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday July 10.

• Men Only Group will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday July 11. The group is led by Nick Even.

• Foot care isavailable Thursdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m. with a home health nurse. To schedule an appointment, call Red Wing Homecare and Hospice at 651-385-3410. The cost is $34.

Join the exercise class

Exercise class takes place at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday in the Jordan Towers Sailstad Room. Everyone is encouraged to only do the exercises that they feel comfortable doing.

Check your blood pressure

45 a.m. Friday July 12 at 207 Second St., Goodhue. The service is offered by St. Brigid's Hi-Park volunteers.
