Valentine’s Day is just more than a week away, so it’s no surprise that chocolate-covered strawberries are showing up in grocery stores, restaurants and bakeries. But recently, another red fruit also has been taking a dip in the chocolate pool: pomegranate.
Following up on the success of the culinary arts events she offered last year at the Anderson Center, Red Wing chef Amy Earney has scheduled another series of events for people who enjoy cooking as a fine art.
You get off work at 5 p.m., your daughter needs a ride to gymnastics at 5:15, parent-teacher conferences begin at 5:30, your son’s science fair starts at 6:15, gymnastics ends at 6:30 and you volunteered to host the church youth group’s game night at 7. Before you know it, your night has booked up entirely.

The number of indoor farmers markets in the United States has increased by nearly 50 percent since 2011, the United States Department of Agriculture reported in November. That year there were just more than 1,200 winter markets; now, that number sits at slightly less than 1,700.
