MAIDEN ROCK-Dog Days of Stockholm announces artist Maria Dudley Kowalski’s original painting “Puppy Party on the Pier” (an 11’’x 14’’ acrylic on canvas), featured as part of the 2013 Dog Days of Stockholm event poster, will be available for bidding during the Dog Days Silent Auction event.

Ellsworth's 11th annual Cheese Curd Festival began Friday night and went through Sunday in its new location in East End Park. The parade will be the highlight of today's activities, along with a pie-judging contest, bingo, meat raffle and a bean-bag toss tournament. This year, Minnesota saw the highest voter approval for school district operating levies since 1997, the Minnesota School Boards Association reported. Out of 114 districts holding levy votes, 90 were approved, including those at Goodhue Public Schools and Kenyon-Wanamingo Public Schools.
