Diane Buganski (left) and Johanna Grothe of the Goodhue County History Center adjust uniforms in the new Girl Scout display. The exhibit opens this weekend in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of the Girl Scouts in Red Wing. Visitors will be able to see uniforms from the 1930s through the 1990s, as well as scrapbooks, handbooks and accessories.
"Gear and Beer," an afternoon of "guy stuff" for both men and women, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. April 6 in the Colvill Courtyard, located in Colvill Park. The event is a fundraiser for the Goodhue County Historical Society.
Hot Reads for Cold Nights 2008 will continue its series on Minnesota history with a program featuring senior exhibit developer and author Kate Roberts at 10 a.m. March 15 in the Foot Room at Red Wing Public Library.
The Goodhue County History Center plans a repeat showing of local historical movies Feb. 25 and March 3. The last movie night, held in the winter of 2004, had to be repeated several times to accommodate all who wanted to see the movies.
