Cross country: Red Wing’s Anderson wins regional meet
Two freshman Red Wing runners highlighted the 5,000-meter race for the girls; Kelsee Anderson won the girls open race Saturday with a time of 19 minutes, 41.76 seconds, and Lindsay Scribner took fourth at 20:01.57. The girls open race had 136 runners.By R-E Sports Staff , November 18, 2009

A year ago, Cannon Falls’ Kaia Bierman missed a berth in the state meet by four places. By her own admission, the 14th place finish at the 2008 Section 1A meet was a by-product of natural talent, not hard work.

The Ellsworth girls came within one spot of advancing to the WIAA Division 2 state tournament as a team. West Salem edged the Panthers by six points, 103-109, for second place at the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau sectional.
