Sirens to be tested Feb. 27
Pierce County will test the new backup system for siren activation at 1 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 27. During the test, sirens within 10 miles of the Prairie Island nuclear plant will sound for less than 30 seconds. Pierce County Office of Emergency Management reminds residents that this is only a test and they should not call dispatch.
