Lorraine B. "Gussie" Cartwright, 90, of Red Wing, formerly of Durand, Wis., died Monday, Feb. 4, at Loving Residence in Red Wing.

Lorraine B. "Gussie" Cartwright, 90, of Red Wing, formerly of Durand, Wis., died Monday, Feb. 4, at Loving Residence in Red Wing.

She was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Lima Township in Pepin County, Wis., to Mike and Annie (Jungman) Bauer. She attended Prissel School and Sacred Heart School in Lima and graduated from Durand High School. She married Mark Cartwright, and they lived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for many years, where she was employed as a secretary at a junior high school. Mark died March 11, 1990.

A member of St. Mary's Assumption Church in Durand and its Altar Society, Lorraine was an avid golfer, and she loved to entertain.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; eight brothers, Tony, Carl, John, Hank, Mike, Phil, Andrew, and an infant brother; and five sisters, Lucy Prissel, Mary Werner, Ann and Dorothy Bauer, and Polly Bush.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery in Durand. Honorary pallbearers will be Connie Bush, Kaleb Cushing, Seth Cushing, Sherry Bush, and Howard Seim. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service. A reception will be held at the funeral home following the service. Memorials preferred to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
