Clyde E. Fredrickson, age 84, of Zumbrota, died on Saturday morning, Jan. 26, at the Zumbrota Health Services.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Christ Lutheran Church with Reverend Wayne D. Schoch officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at the church.

Clyde Eugene Fredrickson was born on May 9, 1928, in Wanamingo, Minn., to Henry J. and Chalma B. (nee Enevold) Fredrickson. Clyde grew up in Wanamingo and attended Wanamingo schools. Clyde entered the U. S. Army on Oct. 2, 1946. He was stationed in Japan after World War II and was honorably discharged on Feb. 23, 1948. After his discharge, he worked at several different jobs before moving back to Wanamingo. On Oct. 20, 1962, he married Elaine Vieths at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.

Clyde was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and also on the school board. He was also a member of Stary-Yerka VFW Post #5727 in Zumbrota. Clyde enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the MN Twins on TV, and playing cards. He retired from the Wanamingo Elevator in 1991 after working there for 29 years.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Elaine; children, Jill (Dale) Plank of Zumbrota, Jason (Elizabeth) Fredrickson of Victoria, Minn., Aaron Fredrickson of Zumbrota, Sara Wilkus of Zumbrota, Deborah (Joe) Barott of Peoria, Ariz., Dana (Eva) Fredrickson of Marine on St. Croix, Minn., and Michele (Ken) Johnson of Glendale, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Opsahl of Goodhue.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marlowe Fredrickson; brothers-in-law, Harvey Opsahl and Harlyn Vieths; and sister-in-law and her husband, Darline and Cleon Flotterud.

Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
