Katherine was born June 13, 1927, in Glasgow Township in Wabasha County, to Tate and Agnes (Herbst) Pulver. Katherine grew up in the Wabasha County area. She married Henry Mancilman June 13, 1947, in Zumbro Falls, Minn. They farmed in Lake Township in Wabasha County until Henry passed away on Aug. 22, 1976. Katherine moved to Lake City where she worked at the Blue Moon restaurant and the Whistle Stop restaurant. She also worked at the Villa Maria and Riviera Cabinets in Red Wing until retiring in 1990.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake City. She was a loving mother who loved to cook, bake bread, crochet, and spend time with her grandchildren. Katherine was very involved in church activities and ladies church circles; she also belonged to Wabasha and Zumbro Falls Senior Citizens.
Katherine is survived by three daughters, Clara (Thomas Marik) Carlson of Lake City, Ruth (Kenneth) Meyer of Lake City, Judy (Donald) Holst of Zumbrota; two sons, Carl (Vicky) of Pine Island, Harold (Beverly) of Goodhue; 17 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a granddaughter, Tasha; a sister, Bernice Mancilman; and a son in-law, Kevin J. Carlson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the United Methodist Church in Lake City with the Rev. Kristine Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson - Peterson Chapel, Lake City. Friends may also call 1 hour before the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Women Advisory Board of Lake City.
