Harriet M. Bredehoft, age 92, of Zumbrota, died on Monday, Dec. 3, at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Harriet M. Bredehoft, age 92, of Zumbrota, died on Monday, Dec. 3, at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with the Rev. Wayne D. Schoch officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery.

Harriet Marie Eppen was born on Dec. 24, 1919, to Arthur and Marie (nee Diercks) Eppen in Zumbrota Township, Goodhue County, Minn. Harriet moved with her parents to Goodhue in 1929. She attended school in Goodhue and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1938. Harriet attended the Teacher Training Department in Red Wing and graduated in 1939. She taught school in rural schools of Goodhue County until her marriage to Orrie Bredehoft on Sept. 4, 1943, at St Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue. The couple farmed in the Zumbrota area for about 40 years. They retired from farming and moved into Zumbrota in 1979. Harriet began working in the housekeeping department of the Zumbrota Nursing Home and retired from there in 1996.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. She enjoyed baking, reading, flower gardening, embroidery, car rides, puzzles, and her own version of scrapbooking. Orrie passed away Jan. 10, 1999. At that time, she moved to the Zumbrota Towers.

Harriet is survived by one daughter, Mary Amundson of South St. Paul, one son, Robert (Marlys) Bredehoft of Zumbrota; six grandchildren, Karen (Mark) Nehring, Laura Amundson, John Bredehoft, Timothy (Dawn) Bredehoft, Mark (Sue) Bredehoft, and Matt (Angie) Bredehoft; 11 great-grandchildren, Faith, Elizabeth, and Brian Nehring, Blake Amundson, Nik, Jacob, and Dylan Bredehoft, Zachary and Kayla Bredehoft, and Camden and Maren Bredehoft; two brothers, Maynard Eppen of Austin and Burton (Mayone) Eppen of Eagan; two sisters-in-law, Deloris Schulz of Red Wing and Carol Eppen of Chatfield.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marie; husband, Orrie; son-in-law, Marlin Amundson; one brother, Willard; and sister-in-law Elizabeth Eppen.

Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church or Pine Haven Care Center.
