Verneil Anna Voth, 98, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, at her home.

Verneil Anna Voth, 98, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, at her home.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1914, in Belle Creek Township, to William and Lena (Dropscheske) Buck. On Sept. 20, 1933, she married Erwin Voth at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue. This marriage was blessed with three children. They farmed in the Bellechester and Goodhue areas for many years before moving to Red Wing in 1975. Verneil worked at the St. John's Hospital as a nurses' aide. Erwin died on March 12, 1991.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was active in church activities, serving on the funeral committee and Ladies Guild. She was interested in gardening, nature activities, and art. She enjoyed traveling and camping.

Survivors include her three children, Marlene (Ernest) Hernlem, Bonnie Voth, and Larry (Deanna) Voth, all of Red Wing; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mathias Buck and Kenneth (Verleen) Buck, all of Zumbrota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Silas Buck, and two sisters, Ebba Bredehoft and Leone Benidt.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Rev. Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in rural Goodhue. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and at the church for 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the church, Red Wing Senior Center, Goodhue County Historical Society, or Red Wing Library.
