Carole Ann Hodgins, 75, Red Wing, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, at her home.

Carole Ann Hodgins, 75, Red Wing, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, at her home.

She was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Winona, Minn., the daughter of Leonard W. and Benedicta C. (Lince) Nealon. She was a 1955 graduate of Red Wing Central High School and then attended Winona State College. For a number of years, she worked as a bookkeeper in St. Paul at an auto dealership. She married Walter Hodgins at St. Mary's Nativity Church in Bloomington, Minn., in February 1965. They moved to Washington, D.C., in 1967, then to Red Wing in 1989.

She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph where she served as Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Befrienders Club and the Franciscans. She enjoyed visiting and travelling, having taken 30 cruises and wintered in Panama City, Fla., for 15 years.

Survivors include her husband, Walter J.; one son, Walter N. Hodgins of St. Paul; and one sister-in-law, Mary Simpson of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas Kommers presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials are preferred to Goodhue County Humane Society.
