Charles Adolph Bennett, 58, of Winona and formerly of Red Wing, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Angel's Care Center in Cannon Falls after a battle with lung cancer.
Charles Adolph Bennett, 58, of Winona and formerly of Red Wing, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Angel's Care Center in Cannon Falls after a battle with lung cancer.
He was born July 30, 1954, in Red Wing, to Adolf and Lucille (Hirschfield) Bennett, and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1973. Following school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until he was discharged in 1975. He resided in Winona most of his life, and one of his favorite pastimes was going fishing.
He is survived by his brother, Scott (Katherine) Bennett of Rosemount, and two nephews, Andrew Bennett of Inver Grove Heights and Steven Bennett of Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with burial to follow at Burnside Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Disabled American Veterans.
