Elizabeth B. (Possehl) Fitschen, age 98, of Red Wing, died Aug. 28, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.

Elizabeth B. (Possehl) Fitschen, age 98, of Red Wing, died Aug. 28, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.

She was born June 3, 1914, in Florence Township, to John and Helena Possehl. On Oct. 3, 1936, she was married to Maynard Fitschen at St. John's Lutheran Church, Frontenac parsonage. She was a housewife and farmed in Hay Creek Township until moving to Florence Township; they then farmed there.

She was a member of St. John's Church Ladies Aid and Fellowship Club and Wells Creek Birthday Club and enjoyed baking, bowling, traveling, and spending time with children.

Survived by son, Gary (Nanci) Fitschen; daughter, Kathleen (Brian) Godby; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Nathalie Kohn.

Preceded in death by husband, Maynard Fitschen; parents, John and Helena Possehl; son Curtis Fitschen; daughter Carol Fitschen; brother, Milton Possehl; sister, Erma Possehl.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Christopher Hoppe, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, with visitation 1 hour prior, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Frontenac. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Grote, Gordie Boldt, Dale Mesenburg, Fred Fitschen, Dean Diercks, and Jim Steffenhagen.

Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
