Angeline "Ann" Quast, age 90, of rural Zumbrota, died on Sunday, July 29, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Angeline "Ann" Quast, age 90, of rural Zumbrota, died on Sunday, July 29, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with Reverend Wayne D. Schoch officiating. Burial will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Friday 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Angeline Alma Matthees was born on April 29, 1922 in the Flower Valley area of Hay Creek Township, Goodhue Co., Minn., to Frederick J. H. and Sabina A. M. (nee Stumpf) Matthees. She grew up in the rural Zumbrota area and attended country school. On Nov. 21, 1944, she married Walter "Wally" Quast in Zumbrota. Together they farmed in Zumbrota Township. Wally died on June 6, 1984, and Ann continued to live on the farm until her death.
Ann was active in the Ladies Aid and card club and enjoyed visits from family, friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ann is survived by sons, Bob (Linda) Quast and Mike Quast, both of Goodhue; daughters, Carol (Doug) Borgschatz of Zumbrota and Mary (Paul) Siple of Farmington; "Special Daughter" Sue (Larry) Holst of Zumbrota; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Alyce Matthees and Audrey Quast, both of Zumbrota; and many nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Wally, and siblings, Donald Matthees, Berdell Hernlem, Lois Raasch, and Roy Matthees.
Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church.
