Darline V. Flotterud, age 81, of Zumbrota, died on Sunday, July 15, at the Zumbrota Health Services.

She was born on July 31, 1930, in Zumbrota, to John and Emma (Borgschatz) Vieths. In 1944, she was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. In 1948, Darline graduated from Goodhue High School. On Sept. 6, 1953, she married Cleon Flotterud at Christ Lutheran Church. Darline worked for the Zumbrota Telephone Company, the Golden Fox, Zumco, and Mid America, where she retired in 1990.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was involved in Ladies Aid, 4-H leadership, and the Zumbrota Garden Club. Darline enjoyed going to auctions and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She had a close relationship with her siblings and cousins.
Darline is survived by her children, Dan (Char) Flotterud of Cannon Falls, Jean (Rob) Halverson of Red Wing, Alan (Kathy) Flotterud of Zumbrota, Kathy (Vernon) Pahl of Pine Island; grandchildren, John, Ben, Paul, and Matt Flotterud, Andrew and Jeff (Tracy) Halverson, Nick, Scott, and Emma Flotterud, Courtney and Alex Pahl; step-grandchildren, Natalie and Hailey Halverson; sisters Elaine (Clyde) Fredrickson of Zumbrota, Adeline (Ardell) Schumann of Zumbrota; and sister-in-law, Elaine Vieths of Pine Island.
Darline was preceded in death by her husband, Cleon Flotterud, who died on Nov. 26, 2010; brother, Harlyn Vieths; and sister, LaVerle Vieths.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with Reverend Wayne Schoch officiating. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
