Jean Marie Lowrie of Red Wing died Saturday, July 14, the day after her 87th birthday, at the Seminary Home.

Jean Marie Lowrie of Red Wing died Saturday, July 14, the day after her 87th birthday, at the Seminary Home.

She was born July 13, 1925, in St. Paul, to William and Julia Ullman, and grew up in St. Paul where she graduated from St. Joseph Academy. On Aug. 16, 1943, she married Donald Lowrie and they lived in Red Wing. Donald died Dec. 10, 2001.

Jean was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and had previously served as a Eucharistic minister. Jean enjoyed sewing, shopping, and plants. Jean's family would like to give a special thank-you to Don Tomczik for his care in bringing communion to Jean weekly when she was no longer able to attend church.

Jean is survived by her son David (Bonnie) Lowrie of Red Wing; four grandchildren, Rick, Cindy, Jason, and Jeremy; and five great-grandchildren, Nicole, Emma, Jadyn, Eila, and Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son Michael; daughter, Donna; son-in-law, Pat; and a sister, Elaine.

Mass of Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
