LaVonne Mae Scott, 85, Red Wing, died Thursday, July 5, at Seminary Home.
LaVonne Mae Scott, 85, Red Wing, died Thursday, July 5, at Seminary Home.
She was born April 5, 1927, near Edgerton, Minn., the daughter of Albert and Alta (Bendt) Lorenzen. She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1945, and she attended beautician school in Sioux Falls, S.D. She married Dale Scott of Hardwick, Minn., on June 9, 1948. They farmed for 10 years on the home farm before moving to Red Wing. Dale died April 7, 1978. She worked at Red Wing Industries and Red Wing Shoe until retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Her family and home life were very important to her.
Survivors include one son, Ron "Butch" (Barb) Scott of Red Wing; one daughter, Shirley (Dennis) Schultz of Red Wing; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Marian Braa of Luverne, Minn.; three sisters-in-law, Marcella Scott of Hardwick,, Virginia Bird of Mankato, Minn., and Lorna Lorenzen of Luverne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; two brothers, Verdell and Melvin.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Reverend Tyge Zucker officiating. Burial will be in Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society or donor's choice.
