Troy Lee Dahling, 50, of Red Wing, Minn., died unexpectedly Saturday, June 9, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn.
Troy Lee Dahling, 50, of Red Wing, Minn., died unexpectedly Saturday, June 9, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn.
He was born in Red Wing on May 17, 1962, to Orville and Barb (Howe) Dahling. Troy graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1981, and shortly thereafter he joined the U.S. Navy. He continued to serve in the Navy until 1992 and then began working at S.B. Foot Tanning as a boiler engineer until his death. On July 23, 1988, Troy was united in marriage to Vicky Hemphill.
In his spare time, Troy enjoyed hunting, fishing, bonfires, the Minnesota Vikings, and grilling. Troy had a very kind heart and was always willing to help out a friend in need. Most of all, Troy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky of Red Wing; two children, Amber and Austin of Red Wing; his parents, Bud and Barb Dahling of Siren, Wis.; one sister, Lynn (Tony) Pittman of Arkansaw, Wis.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the funeral home, and for 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
