Georgette Michaele Bush, 55, of Bowie, Md., and formerly of Austin, Minn., died unexpectedly May 23 at her home.
She was born on July 16, 1956, in Austin, to Thayre and Pauline (Bauer) Bush. She graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin in 1974 and then Mankato State University in 1985.
Georgette will be greatly missed. She had a wonderful smile and a great sense of humor. She was devoted to family and friends. Her curious nature led her to explore during her lifetime. Her career with customs and border protection spanned from Minneapolis to Chicago to Washington D.C. She was an avid reader and could speak intelligently on most any topic. She was congenial and loved to talk to people. She cooked gourmet meals. She liked to meditate and she loved going to the movies. We celebrate your life, Geo; you are loved and in our hearts and memories.
She is survived by her siblings, Terry (Linda) Bush, June (Steve) Barent, Janet Rohne, Nina Bush, Sherry (Howard Seim) Bush, and Connie (Russ Hartwig) Bush; nieces and nephews; cousins; one aunt, Lorraine Cartwright; one great-aunt, Ila Sanders Cape; and special friends Russell Morris and Cindy Schoonmaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Harlan Rohne.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Hiawatha Valley Baptist Church, 27675 271st St., Red Wing, MN 55066 with Rev. Chuck Friemel officiating. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's or Diabetes Associations.
Online condolences may be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
