Alberta D. Kleinhenz Burrows, age 94, passed on peacefully at home in Sumner, Wash., on May 11. She lived a full and lively life.
Alberta D. Kleinhenz Burrows, age 94, passed on peacefully at home in Sumner, Wash., on May 11. She lived a full and lively life.
She was born in Red Wing, Minn., to August and Lura Becker on Sept. 25, 1917. On Dec. 11, 1942, she married the love of her life, Leonard F. Kleinhenz. They had five beautiful children, Allen, Mary Ellen (passed on at the tender age of 3), Anne, Marilyn, and Kathy. She loved to cook, decorate cakes, arrange flowers, sew, and do stitchery. After 25 happy years of marriage, she was widowed in 1969. In 1979, she married the second love of her life, William Burrows, her childhood friend, high school sweetheart from Red Wing, and a well-respected doctor in Puyallup, Wash. She kept in contact with many dear friends in Minnesota over the years and made many good friends in Washington, among them Ethel Davidson, Betty Baur, and Florence and Kurt Bargmeyer, plus many, many more.
She was a loving, thoughtful, happy and generous friend. Most of all, she loved her children and extended family and was full of love and gratitude for them in her final days of life.
She is survived by children Allen Kleinhenz and his wife, Carol, Anne Kleinhenz, Marilyn Innes, and Kathy Kleinhenz; grandsons: Jon Kleinhenz, wife Neeta, their children Kieran and Aidan; Jason Kleinhenz, wife Katie, their children Avery and Lily; grandson Alexander Egan and fiancée Katy Goodwin; stepchildren, Lorrie Burrows Wood, George Burrows, Chris Burrows, Bob Burrows, Allan Burrows, and their spouses and grandchildren; brother Donald Becker, wife Martha, their children Joe, Steve, Tom, and Sue, and all their children; sister Emily Blumer, daughter Pat Brehm and family; the Inman family of Carol, Judy, Pat, Bill, and Bob; sister Helen Becker and children Bobbie, Michael, Barbara, Sandi, Bill, Mary, Janet, and Jim.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Leonard and William; daughter Mary Ellen; brother Bernard (Bud); sister Mildred (Tiny) Inman.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 324 S. Prior Ave., St. Paul, with visitation 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial immediately following at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arr. O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 651-698-0796. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Washington. Memorials can be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
