Carol Joyce Christiansen, age 72, of Prescott, Wis., died unexpectedly May 6 at home.
Carol Joyce Christiansen, age 72, of Prescott, Wis., died unexpectedly May 6 at home.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1938, to Elmer and Emma (Lorence) Schoknecht in Cook County, Chicago, Ill.
Carol enjoyed crocheting and crafts. She loved trips to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking and being outdoors. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Randy Mathews; daughter Tammy Christiansen; stepson Kenneth Jr., and stepdaughter Debra; granddaughter Katie Constantineau; and brother Gary Schoknecht.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth L.; children Cindy (Allen) Constantineau of River Falls, Christine Cadleck of Minnesota, Kenneth L. Mathews of Ellsworth, Tina Furchner of Red Wing, Terry (Gregg) Evenson of Red Wing, Kayleen Carr of Ellsworth, Steve Christiansen of Ellsworth; five step-children; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held for Carol from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery on County Road QQ, Prescott.
