Ricki Lee (Giar) Wallin, age 37, formerly of Red Wing, died at her home in Stockholm on Monday, April 16.
Ricki was born Nov. 12, 1974, in El Paso, Texas, to Linden and Elaine (Kenitz) Giar. She graduated in 1992 from Red Wing Central High School. On Nov. 26, 1995, she married Jeremy Wallin, and they lived in Red Wing and later in Wisconsin. She had worked at the Red Wing Health Center, was self-employed cleaning houses and, for the past 5 years, has been at Sargent's Nursery, where she greatly enjoyed her job in landscaping.
Ricki was quite artistic, whether it was in her landscaping work or through her painting and sewing. One of her favorite things to do was quilting with the girls at Cornerstone Community Church. As a member of the New River Assembly God Church, she was very active and enjoyed her work with the Sunday school children. She was also able to partake in a church mission trip to Guatemala, an experience that she cherished and thoroughly enjoyed. Another pastime she loved was a good day of fishing. Ricki was great “people person” and was known to give a helping hand whenever it was needed.
She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Wallin; daughter, Kayla; mother, Elaine Giar; three sisters, Samantha (Corey) Novek, Courtney (Bob) Horne, and Tylor Molgard; nieces and nephews, Vanessa, Jordan, Angie, Austin, Brittany, Madelyne, Dillan, Evan, and Tyana; and aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at the New River Assembly of God Church with Reverend Tom Johnson officiating. Private family burial will be at Stockholm Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday at the church and for 1 hour prior to the service.
Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
