Mavis Joann Cohenour, 75, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, April 4, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.

Mavis Joann Cohenour, 75, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, April 4, at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.

Born June 25, 1936, to Joseph and Evelyn (Giese) Vadner, she grew up in the Alexandria area. She married Thomas E. Cohenour Sr. May 4, 1957, at the Little Brown Church in Iowa, and they moved to the Ellsworth area in 1974. She worked at several nursing homes in St. Paul as a nursing assistant before working at the Red Wing Health Center in the laundry area for 18 years until retiring at age 74.

She enjoyed flowers, animals, bird watching, and gardening. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her children Joann (Ken) Bromen of Bay City, Thomas Michael (Debra) Cohenour of Red Wing, Joseph (Kerri) Cohenour of Duluth; stepson, Thomas E. Cohenour Jr. of Alaska; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Roger Vadner of Kentucky; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Patrick Eugene and Timothy Mark; and a brother, Jerald Vadner.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
