Harlyn Junior Borgschatz, 81, of Red Wing, died Monday, March 12, at the Red Wing Health Center.
Harlyn Junior Borgschatz, 81, of Red Wing, died Monday, March 12, at the Red Wing Health Center.
He was born March 5, 1931, in Minneola Township, to Henry and Huldah (Stechman) Borgschatz and graduated from grade school in Minneola Township. He worked with his father on the family farm and had also worked at the Libby Canning Company.
Harlyn loved to fish and greatly enjoyed going with his nephew Brent as well as going on the Red Wing Health Center fishing outings. Having grown up and working on the farm, he never lost his love for farming and enjoyed taking drives in the country and farmland areas.
He is survived by his sister Donna (Curtis) Melhouse of Kenyon, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harvey, Vernon and Alton; and sister Darlene Johnson.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Reverend Wayne Schoch officiating. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Zumbrota Cemetery.
