Bernette VonBargen, 94

Bernette "Bernie" VonBargen, 94, of Belle Plaine, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born May 24, 1917, in Belle Creek Township to Ernest and Anna (Alms) VonBargen and grew up in Hay Creek area. For 37 years, Bernie had been a resident of the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home, Hope Residence. He enjoyed playing cards with family and collecting dog figurines.

He is survived by one brother, LeRoy (Mary) VonBargen of Bloomington, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Willis VonBargen.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
