Jon A. Brudeseth, 61, of Hager City, died Monday, Dec. 26, at his home.

Jon Alan Brudeseth, 61, of Hager City, died Monday, Dec. 26, at his home.

He was born June 13, 1950, in Red Wing, to Jerry Brudeseth and Jean Davis. Jon was a 1968 graduate of Red Wing Central High School. He started working at Malmquist Flooring during high school and later became part owner. After many years with Malmquist he became self-employed.

Jon enjoyed scuba diving, especially deep sea diving, and taking vacations where he could dive-his favorite being the Caribbean. Jon was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying. He was an avid car buff, he loved cars, especially his Camero, and he enjoyed restoring vintage cars.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Brudeseth of Hager City; his children, Andria Skrypez of Ham Lake, Minn., and Michael (Carrie) Brudeseth of Chandler, Ariz.; grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, and Isabelle; his mother, Jean Davis, of Sun City West, Ariz.; sister, Jill (John) Matteson of Tempe, Ariz.; and a niece, Jessica (Tim) Black of Phoenix, Ariz.

Per Jon's wishes, his body was donated to the University of Minnesota Bequest Program.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at First Presbyterian Church with Reverends Gary Elg and Steve Timm officiating.

You will be forever loved and dearly missed Uncle Jon. All my love to Jon's family and friends. My heart goes out to everyone who loved and so kindly cared for him, many special heartfelt thanks for everything.
