Ethel "Mitzi" Haase, age 86, of Lake City, passed away Dec. 18 at the Lake City Care Center.

Ethel "Mitzi" Haase, age 86, of Lake City, passed away Dec. 18 at the Lake City Care Center.

Mitzi was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Waconia, Minn., to Paul and Lillian (Simons) Herrmann. She graduated from St. Felix High School in Wabasha, Minn. Mitzi married Ralph Haase Nov. 21, 1945, in Wabasha. They lived in Lake City after they were married.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Lake City VFW Auxiliary, and the women's bowling league. Mitzi enjoyed being active and helping at the church and cooking for her family.

Mitzi is survived by three sons, Dave (Myra) Haase of Red Wing, Steve (Peggy) Haase of Rochester, Tom (Mary) Haase of Rochester; a daughter, Mary Pat (Howard) Horen of Lake City; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Richard Herrmann of Greenville, S.C.; sister Dorothy Noll of Wabasha.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters and a brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at St. Mary's of The Lake Catholic Church with Father Richard Derneck officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Todd Haase, Jeff Haase, Paul Haase, Brian Haase, “KC” Keith Horen, Wendell Noble. Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Catholic Church. On line condolences may be placed at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
