George R. Lother, 88

George Rudolph Lother, 88, of Diamond Bluff, died Wednesday, Dec 14, at the Ellsworth Care Center. He was born May 11, 1923 in Minneola Township in Goodhue County to Rudolph and Lydia (Mann) Lother.

George Rudolph Lother, 88, of Diamond Bluff, died Wednesday, Dec 14, at the Ellsworth Care Center. He was born May 11, 1923 in Minneola Township in Goodhue County to Rudolph and Lydia (Mann) Lother.

He grew up on the family farm just outside of Ellsworth and attended schools in the Ellsworth School District. For the first half of his life, he farmed and worked at Durkee Atwood and then he went into construction after farming. He was a jack of all trades who loved tinkering and fixing things. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. George loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and was a very generous man.

He is survived by his significant other, Lois Kask of Diamond Bluff; five children, Larry (Barb) Lother of Hudson, Rita (Robert) Reus of Fort Worth, Texas, Randy (Cathy Biljan) Lother of Inver Grove Heights, Mark (Carla) Lother of Prior Lake, Lisa Lother of Hudson; nine grandchildren, Dawn, Brent, Jeremy, Jarred, Laree, Emily, Tanner, Michael, Michelle; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Dianna, Aaron, Aiden; one nephew Gary Lien. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lydia Lien.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Mary Eide officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service. Online condolences can be sent at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
