Laurel "Laurie" E. Studer, 54, of Bay City, died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.
Laurel "Laurie" E. Studer, 54, of Bay City, died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.
Born Oct. 12, 1957, in Red Wing, to Arnold and Irene (Bade) Rieck, she grew up in Bay City and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1976. She married Tim Studer, and they later divorced. For over 20 years, she had been employed at Durkee Atwood in Red Wing. Recently she had worked as a bartender at Hase Loft and Mike's Bay Town.
Laurie had been a bowler, softball player, and enjoyed shooting pool as well as cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
She is survived by her mother, Irene Rieck of Bay City; long-time companion, Lee Gilles of Menomonie, Wis.; two brothers, Rolland (Janet) Rieck of Baldwin, Wis., and Rodney (Sue) Rieck of Taylor, Wis.; two sisters, Lynda Rieck of Hager City, Wis., and LuAnn (Doug Pfingsten) Dahl of Bay City.; many nieces, nephews, and aunts; her cat, Socks, and her new kitten, Boots.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold, and her former husband, Tim Studer.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with Reverend Mary Eide officiating. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
