Janice Lee Murray, 57, of Lake City, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Fairview Red Wing Seminary Home.
Born Sept. 22, 1952, in Stillwater, Minn., to Wilbur and Norma (Owen) Gossett, she grew up in the Diamond Bluff area. She quit school as a young woman to help care for her mother. After her mother's death, she moved to Frederick, Wis., where she lived with her cousin and they later moved to Bay City, Wis. She had worked at motels, Larry's Broiler and the Red Wing Health Center. She married David Murray on Sept. 13, 1996. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, dancing and music.
She is survived by her husband of Lake City; sisters, Doris Peterson of Red Wing, Annetta (Russell) Smith of Hager City, Joy (Gary) Hinton of Savannah, Georgia and Darleen Rightman of Red Wing; two step-children, Travis and Tammy Murray; several nieces and nephews and a godson, Jay Robbins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Fairview Seminary Home Chapel with Reverend Cheryl Szabo officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the Seminary Home Chapel.

MY hear goes out to Jans Family. I have knowen Jan for many many years an she was the most wonderful an one of the nicest people I have met.Jan went threw a lot in her life but all way held strong.She was strong all the way to the end. My self an Darlene an Donna we all had great times an all ways will remember Jan for being a very good friend an a AWSOME person.She touched many hearts .Going to miss you Jan but God will take care of you now.
