Mary Ann Rother, age 78, of Welch, died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 30, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Mary Ann Rother, age 78, of Welch, died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 30, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Mary Ann was born May 1, 1931 in Hastings to Henry and Mary (Jelinik) Dalaska of Empire, Minn. She was a 1949 graduate of Farmington High School. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Raynard Rother on November 22, 1952 at St. John's Catholic Church, Vermillion. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, playing cards, and being with friends. In later years she enjoyed her grandkids, her flowers and garden, crossword puzzles, luncheon dates with the ladies, sharing recipes, and taking pictures.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and great granddaughter Marley Rother.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Raynard; sons, Duane (Patricia) of Welch, Bruce "Steve" (Gin) of Welch, Jeff (Peg) of Hastings, Craig (Lori) of Red Wing, Doug (Julia) of Welch; daughters, Diana (Randy) Williamson of Red Wing, Laurie (Gene) Stoffel of Miesville, and Joyce (Jason) Hart of Red Wing; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Leonard Siebenaler, will be held at 10:30 a.m. August 3 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Miesville. The visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the Monday service all at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Miesville. Pallbearers are grandsons Benjamin Rother, Elliott Rother, Kody Rother, Lucas Rother, Michael Williamson, and Richard Rother; Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren Katie Slingsby, Shawn Rother, Andrea Rother, Jess Rother, Andrew Rother, Samantha Rother, Courtney Williamson, Thomas Rother, Ashley Stoffel, Molly Hart, Allison Stoffel, Stacey Rother, Matthew Hart, Sarah Stoffel, and Emily Hart.
