Robert "Bob" R. Olson, 72, of Red Wing, died Monday at his home.
Funeral Mass for Robert "Bob" R. Olson will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany in rural Millville, Minn., with Father Richard J. Dernek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Olson, 72, of Red Wing, died Monday at his home. Robert Ralph Olson was born Aug. 20, 1936, to Oscar and Alice (Ackerman) Olson in Wabasha, Minn. He attended rural West Albany School in Wabasha County, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City.
@death of veteran: He served in the U.S. Army. Bob worked at Gould Industries in Lake City for 15 years, and after that did construction work and later was employed at NSP at Prairie Island.
@Normal: Robert is survived by one daughter, Sarah Henderson of Red Wing; his mother, Alice Weichel of Theilman, Minn.; one sister, Diane (Corbin) Cox of Theilman; two brothers, Thomas (Joyce) Weichel of Lake City and Kenneth (Patricia) Weichel of Welch. He was preceded in death by his father, one infant brother, and one brother Arthur.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, 1865 S Hwy 61, Lake City, MN, 651-345-5778.

Bob was a very kind man, nice to everyone he met. He will be missed. My sympathy to Sara and Bob's family. He raised a wonderful daughter.Red Wing, MN 07/22/2009 11:56 AM
