Mae Marcella Oldenburg, 92, Cannon Falls, died Monday at the Angels Care Center.
Mae Marcella Oldenburg, 92, Cannon Falls, died Monday at the Angels Care Center. Born July 29, 1915, in St. Paul, she was later adopted by Edward and Cora (Hermel) Weithoff, and they resided in Cordova, Minn. Her mother later remarried and they lived in Belle Plaine, Minn.
She married Elmer Oldenburg on June 15, 1937, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. They lived in several communities, and she taught Sunday School at the many churches they attended over the years. They moved to Dennison and lived there the last years of their lives. They were members of the First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. He died Jan. 28, 1994. She enjoyed flower gardening, animals and going to county and state fairs.
Survivors include her daughter, Cora Lee Robinson of Stanton, Minn.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls with the Rev. Phillip Ruud officiating. Burial will follow at Wangen Prairie Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to First English Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.
