Holly Christine Lunde, age 52, of Maiden Rock, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 2, at her home.
Holly Christine Lunde, age 52, of Maiden Rock, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 2, at her home.
Holly was born the daughter of Rolly and Marilyn (Luckow) Conklin on Dec. 16, 1959, in Key West, Fla. Her childhood was spent in Connecticut and Minnesota. Her family moved to Red Wing, Minn., and Holly attended Red Wing High School, graduating with the class of 1977. She attended Southeast Technical College in Red Wing, completing a program in ag finance. Holly went to work for Norwest Bank. On Dec. 1, 1984, she married Craig Lunde in Red Wing. Holly spent the past 17 years as the assistant librarian at the Plum City Library.
She volunteered with the Head Start Program, taught Sunday school and served on the church council at Sabylund, and enjoyed her book club. Holly enjoyed reading, her flower gardens, crocheting, and traveling. She was one of the biggest fans of Plum City High School sports. Holly was a strong-willed, compassionate person with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She was loving, kind, enthusiastic, and dedicated.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Georgia Lunde, and sister-in-law Linda Conklin.
Holly is survived by her husband, Craig Lunde; children, Elizabeth (James) Sheldon, Brent Lunde, Keith Lunde; grandson, Ethan Sheldon; parents, Rolly (Marilyn) Conklin; siblings, Scott (Renee) Conklin, Carrie (James) Becker, Jeff (Cheryl) Conklin, Anne (Dan McGrath) Conklin; father-in-law, Richard Lunde; sister-in-law Debra (Greg) Carlisle; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at Sabylund Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Maiden Rock, and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Maiden Rock Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Plum City Library.
