Dorothy (Dettling) Sticht, age 92, of Maiden Rock, passed away on May 31, surrounded by family, at her home in Maiden Rock.

Dorothy (Dettling) Sticht, age 92, of Maiden Rock, passed away on May 31, surrounded by family, at her home in Maiden Rock.

Dorothy was born on June 24, 1919, to Joseph and Kate (Horn) Dettling in Plum City, Wis. She attended the rural Gilles School and graduated from the Plum City High School.

She worked as a nurse at the Plum City Hospital. She married Arthur Sticht on Feb. 19, 1944. After Dorothy and Arthur's marriage she started farming and continued being active on the farm until just before her death.

She was a lifelong member of St. Johns Parish in Plum City. She also devoted her life to her family, friends, and the nursing profession. She was well known and respected for her cooking and baking skills and always having something in the oven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents, Joseph and Katherine Dettling; her in-laws, Charles and Mable Sticht; and a brother, Robert Dettling.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Craig, Mary (Larry) Waters, Donald; three grandchildren: Derrick Schmitt and his wife, Jess, of River Falls; Adam Sticht of Maiden Rock; Ian (Natalie) Sticht of River Falls; three great-grandchildren, Derrick John Schmitt II of River Falls, Brittani (Brett) Johnson of Vista, Calif., Rylan Sticht of River Falls; and one great-great-grandson, Aiden Christopher Johnson of Vista, Calif.; one sister, Ethel (Joe) Capitani of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Jim (Darlene) Dettling of Plum City; a sister-in-law, Marian Lorenz of Mesa, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.

Services for Dorothy will be at St. Johns Catholic Church in Plum City at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, with Father Jerry Harris will be officiating. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow the service.
