Ice fishing contest will be Feb. 11
Frontenac Sportsman Club will hold its annual ice fishing contest from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday Feb. 11 on Frontenac Pond. Kids fish free from 11 a.m. to noon.

Winterfest adds new events

Aerial observers count bald eagles
BOSCOBEL, Wis. – An annual mid-winter aerial survey of bald eagles along the Lower Wisconsin River corridor found 186 eagles between the Petenwell dam between Adams and Juneau counties and the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers in Crawford County, a distance of 180 miles.
DNR wraps up CWD testing
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources had more than 2,300 deer tested this fall and winter for chronic wasting disease and found no infected animals in southeastern Minnesota.
