Frontenac Sportsman Club will hold its annual ice fishing contest from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday Feb. 11 on Frontenac Pond. Kids fish free from 11 a.m. to noon.

The youth group at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, will serve cinnamon rolls after the three worship services Sunday. Students will share information about their summer mission trip.

Not long ago, I received an email from a reader asking me if I had an excellent recipe for date bars. It had been ages since I’d thought of those classic sweet treats with a cookie-like mixture sandwiching soft, creamy date filling. Instead of having weekly immunization clinics, Goodhue County Health & Human Services will hold a clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month through July.
Wear red to family story time Saturday
The Red Wing Public Library’s next Winter Saturday Family Story Time will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday Feb. 4 in the story well. The theme is “Red!” and you are invited to wear that color and enjoy stories, music, and action rhymes. A take-home craft will be provided.
