Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan to be Discussed at Upcoming Meeting
The annual meeting to discuss the City of Red Wing’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) will be held as part of the regular City Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall on Monday, April 22, 2013.
The meeting will focus on Red Wing’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting to share ideas about the importance of a cleaner water environment. The plan is available at the Red Wing Public Library, City Hall or online at www.red-wing.org/stormwater.html.
Paul Drotos, Environmental Officer, is responsible for the City of Red Wing’s stormwater permit compliance. The April 22 meeting will include a presentation by Drotos about what Red Wing is doing to improve the quality of stormwater runoff that flows to the Mississippi River. Educational, engineering, and maintenance aspects of the city’s stormwater system will be discussed. The meeting will provide an opportunity for public comments about clean water issues. Public Comments will be limited to three minutes.
