To the Editor:

Sunday we witnessed a heartwarming supportive event. Nearly 500 people came to Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical on a rainy Sunday afternoon to show support for Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity and the 2013 Women Build in Red Wing.

The Power of the Purse event demonstrated just that as people shopped at women-owned businesses, bid on art purses, and participated in the silent auction. Over $5,000 was raised to build a safe, decent home for a local family.

We are grateful for your attendance and your support whether a longtime partner or just joining the Habitat for Humanity community.
