Letter: Halverson well-versed in sand

Township elections are March 12. Many people ignore these elections, but decisions occur at the local level.

Scott Halverson is running for Hay Creek Township supervisor. Scott has been an active member of Save-the-Bluffs since its inception. He and his wife opened their home for a fundraiser, wrote requests for donations, and coordinated several other activities that helped raise nearly $2,000 for Save-the-Bluffs activities.

In addition, he has been an active member of the Hay Creek Township Planning Committee. His 35 years of experience as a court reporter became invaluable in his role as secretary to the effective operation of the planning committee.

A vote for Scott would be a vote for someone who is an active part of his community and very versed in all aspects of silica sand as it relates to our lands and lives.
