Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 315 West Fourth Street, Red Wing, Minnesota until 2:00 p.m. on March 18, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. After tabulation, bids will be presented to the Red Wing Port Authority at their office in Red Wing at their regular meeting for the furnishing of all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and all else necessary for the rehabilitation of the Little River Bulkhead (Project No. 156-PA-12-01) located in the City of Red Wing, Minnesota, consisting of the following approximate quantities:
Removal & disposal of the cat walk, timbers, C10x15.3 & misc. concrete
lump sum (1)
Miscellaneous: Straighten HP 14 x 89, in place piles lump sum (1)
HHS 10x14 tubes and associated shim plates 630 linear feet
HP 14x89 300 linear feet
C 10x25 600 linear feet
Catwalk lump sum (1)
Treated Timbers 3,300 square feet
Concrete Curb 30 linear feet
Structural Steel Angle 6x4x3/8 430 linear feet
All in accordance with plans and specifications on file at the Red Wing Port Authority, 315 W. 4th Street, Red Wing, MN. Plans and Bidding Documents (proposal, special provisions, bid forms, and general instructions to bidders) may be examined at the Port Authority Office located at 315 W. 4th Street, Red Wing, MN and at Wenzel Engineering, 10100 Morgan Avenue South, Bloomington, MN. Complete sets of Plans and Proposals (bidding documents) will be available for downloading on March 9, 2013 from the City of Red Wing website at http://www.red-wing.org and by clicking on the "Quick Links" then "Project & Equipment Bids" for QuestCDN Project 2503670. There is a nonrefundable fee of $20.00 for the electronic Plans and Bidding Documents.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the site on March 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
Bids must be on the basis of cash payment for the work and material, and no bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Red Wing Port Authority, 315 West Fourth Street, Red Wing, MN, and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check or bidder's bond payable to the Red Wing Port Authority, for not less than five (5) percent of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will, if awarded the contract, enter promptly into an agreement with the Port Authority and furnish a bond for the full amount of the contract as provided by law. The deposit will be subject to forfeiture as provided by law.
Cash deposits, certified checks and bidder's bonds of the three lowest bidders may be retained until the contract has been awarded and executed, but not longer than thirty (30) days from the date of opening bids. All other deposits will be returned promptly.
The Port Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality therein and to adjourn the meeting to a later date for the purpose of further consideration of the bids and taking action thereon. No bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) clays from the date of opening bids.
