Dryer causes Plum Street fire

A natural gas clothes dryer fire closed part of Plum Street on Thursday evening.

Red Wing Fire Department responded to a call at 749 Plum St. around 5:40 p.m. and smoke coming from the basement and back entrance. The occupants were out of the home when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters put out the flames and took the dryer outside.
