The Red Wing Senior Center is located in the Professional Building and Community Center, 1407 W. Fourth St. All events listed are held at the Senior Center unless otherwise noted. Phone number is 651-267-3599.
Dove Chocolate tasting aids center
Come join in for a tasting of exclusive chocolate treats, elegant desserts, luscious beverages and savory delights from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday March 14 at Provenzano’s Ristorante. A percentage of your purchase will be donated to Red Wing Area Seniors Inc.
Get active
Get fit and stay healthy. Join in at 9 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The Active Older Adult class includes low-impact aerobics, strength training and stretching. Cost is $30 for 20 sessions for non-YMCA members.
Do you need something typed?
A letter? Family story? Experienced typists are willing to volunteer their services, if you give a donation to the Senior Center for the finished work. Simply bring in your hand-written correspondence. In a few days you can pick your typed work.
Massages
Massages sessions are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from massage therapist Allison Wesch. Cost $40 one hour, $30 half hour. For an appointment, call Wesch directly at 651-332-4614. Sessions are held at the Senior Center. A gift certificate for a massage is a great gift idea.
Seniors Helping Seniors
Seniors Helping Seniors peer support volunteers are skilled and committed to helping other seniors who are experiencing distress in their lives. If you need someone to talk to or you know someone who does, please contact Robin Wipperling at 651-385-3456.
Cards and games
The following games will be played: Scrabble - 1 p.m. Wednesdays; Fun Bridge – 10 a.m. Wednesdays; Chess – 1 p.m. Thursdays.
Medical equipment available
Gently used medical equipment is available at the Senior Center to use for up to three months during a period of medical convalescence or short-term disability.
Items include wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs, commodes and more. If you need something, visit or call the center. A $20 donation is requested to help with the ongoing program costs.
