Police look into boys' allegations

A Red Wing resident reported Feb. 20 that her son and his friend were assaulted as they got off a bus at 4:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Potter Street. The resident told police that the boys, both 7 years old, were approached by a male in his late teens or early 20s.

The boys said the male pushed one boy to the ground and then tried to lick the face of the second boy. The second boy punched the male in the face. The male then walked away. The boys said the male had dark hair and was driving a red or green full-sized van.

Police searched the area shortly after the alleged assault, but did not locate anyone or a van matching that description.
