Four charged with first-degree burglary

Four people have been charged with first-degree burglary after entering a Cannon Falls residence and taking a dog.

Four people have been charged with first-degree burglary after entering a Cannon Falls residence and taking a dog.

According to four similar court complaints filed in Goodhue County Court Feb. 13 and 14, Jonathon Brian Peters, 18, Janice Lee Peters, 49, David Andrew Peters, 22, all of Cannon Falls, and Bethany Ariana Emanuelson, 19, Northfield, forced their way into a residence at 214 N. Fourth St. on Feb. 2.

The complaints state that Jonathon Peters had been dating a female that lives at the residence, though they had broken up. Jonathon Peters and the female had been disputing who actually owned the Labrador when the four took the animal.

Three people were in the residence at the time, the complaints state.

Jonathon Peters also faces a trespassing charge. Janice Peters also faces an obstructing legal process charge and two fifth-degree assault charges. David Peters also faces two fifth-degree assault charges.

Jonathon, Janice and David Peters will next appear in court March 22. Emanuelson will appear April 19.
