See the future of artistic expression: Student work from Ellsworth, Goodhue, Lake City and Red Wing on display

Red Wing Arts Association has hosted a unique Annual Area Students Art Show over the years.

Red Wing Arts Association has hosted a unique Annual Area Students Art Show over the years. Art teachers submit a variety of work from collages, paintings to sculptures and more.

“These students bring a new vision of the future of art,” aIS Dan Guida, executive director of RWAA. “It is a pleasure to showcase the work of the next generation’s artists.”

The 11th annual show opens Saturday March 2 and runs through Saturday March 30. The public is invited to an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. March 2. Refreshments will be served.

“This is always a very exciting experience for the students who are showing work. For our artists, this is like a ‘big game.’ They get an opportunity to show the fruits of the labor off to their family, friends, and community and always appreciate the feedback they hear throughout the month of the show,” said Kristin Bray, a teacher at Red Wing High School. The show will include the work of students from four districts. Student artists will be recognized by school according to the following schedule: 1:30 p.m. Ellsworth student artists, 2:30 p.m. Goodhue student artists, 3:30 p.m. Lake City student artists and 4:30 p.m. Red Wing student artists.

The Red Wing Arts Association is committed to a focus on promoting the arts and support of the creative community in Red Wing and the surrounding area. For information, contact 651-388-7569 or info@rwarts.org
