Catherine 'Kaye' Rostvold, 90 - Updated Service Information

Catherine "Kaye" Rostvold, 90, of Red Wing, went to be with Jesus on Feb. 20 at her home at Valentine's Assisted Living in Red Wing under the loving care of the staff and hospice.

Catherine "Kaye" Rostvold, 90, of Red Wing, went to be with Jesus on Feb. 20 at her home at Valentine's Assisted Living in Red Wing under the loving care of the staff and hospice.

She was born in Rushford, Minn., to Melvin and Olga (Hanson) Magnuson on Jan. 9, 1923. She was married to Leon Rostvold on June 17, 1942, by the Rev. Jersing Thompson in Burr Oak, Iowa. Leon passed away on Sept. 9, 1997.

She is survived by two children, Gloria (Elroy) Peterson of Red Wing and Lee Eric Rostvold of La Crosse, Wis.; seven grandchildren, James (Martha) Bowen of Cannon Falls, Minn., Kellie (Scott) LeClair of Eagan, Minn., Joseph (Stephanie) Bowen of Cannon Falls, John (Lori) Bowen of Red Wing, Billie Jo Barry of Madison, Wis., Susan (Brian) Armitage of Waimanolo, Hawaii, and Jeff (Kris) Barry of Trempealeau, Wis.; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Lyla McDonough of Wabasha, Minn., Mary Fuchs of Lake City, Minn., Maxine Petrich of California; two brothers, Bob Magnuson of Red Wing and Melvin (Darlene) Magnuson of Wabasha; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her parents; her daughter Lana; and son Gary.

Kaye and Leon entertained for over 20 years throughout the Minnesota and Wisconsin areas. She loved to sing and share her music in her church as well as professionally. She made friends wherever she lived.

Due to weather, the memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, with visitation starting at 10 a.m., instead of the original date of March 5.

Memorials are preferred in place of flowers to MCHS Red Wing Hospice, Red Wing Area Food Shelf, First Lutheran Church of Red Wing, or donor's choice.
