A man walked out of Walmart, 295 S. Tyler Road, without paying for 10 Apple iPads, Red Wing police reported. The man had entered the store and talked to a sales associate, acting as if he was going to buy the electronics. However, he simply left the store with them.

A sales associate followed him outside, but the man said he would shoot if the associate didn’t stop. However, the man never displayed a gun, Police Capt. Darold Glander said. The suspect then got into a blue Ford Taurus and drove away.

The man is described as in his 20s, Asian and wearing a dark-colored coat, blue jeans, dark glasses and a baseball hat.

The missing iPads are valued at $5,100. The man also took one assorted candle set.
